Flourish Purefoods launches UHT milk in Tetra Pak packages

Ahmedabad, Dec 26 (IANS) City-based Flourish Purefoods, a new-age company driven by scientific approach and knowledge, has launched its Flourish Rich Milk in Tetra Pak packages.

Processed using UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) technology, Flourish Rich Milk gives consumers the convenience of long shelf life without the need for refrigeration, a company statement said.

"The UHT Milk, packaged in protective 6-layer Tetra Pak packages, is free from preservatives and can be readily consumed without the need for boiling," the statement added.

Milina Bose, Vice President Marketing for Flourish Purefoods, said: "Our focus will be to reach out to customers directly and educate about the need of good quality milk in their life.

"We are habituated to boiling milk to kill harmful bacteria and think that this increases shelf-life. However, incorrect boiling practices results in loss of essential nutrients. Consumers should rather opt for milk that does not need to be boiled at all.

"Our UHT Milk in Tetra Pak packages is processed using aseptic technology that ensures safe and hygienic milk that can be consumed straight from the carton," Bose added.

Milk packaged in Tetra Pak packages is UHT treated. In this process, milk is heated to high temperatures for a few seconds to remove all microorganisms making it virtually 100 percent bacteria free while retaining all the nutrition without the need for preservatives.

"UHT milk does not need to be boiled, making it ready for consumption straight out of the package. UHT milk in Tetra Pak packages also has increased shelf-life and does not need to be refrigerated until opened," the statement said.
