Arts and Culture: Meaning of the Bindi in Indian culture
Started by: Loser on 09 Jun 2006
...For centuries, Hindu women have worn a red spot on their foreheads. Until now we naively thought it had something to do with their religion. The true story has just been revealed by the Indian embassy in Washington. When one of these women gets married, on her wedding night, her new husband scratches off the red spot to see if he has won a convenience store, a gas station, or a motel in Florida.

Our Native Country!: Pam Anderson in biggboss house
 Started by: mcg7 on 19 Nov 2010
...Pamela Anderson was paid Rs. 2.5 crores for a 3 day stinct. One could see that she was not comfortable in BB. The TRP ratings hit the roof during her presence, that means there is more moolah coming in thru adv. Indian Govt knew this. I&B minister/babus want a cut in the share. That’s the reason for the 11 pm move. The producers got the stay on it. BB4 gone bad due to abusive language and other scenes. Clamping on it by the Indian Govt is a double standard. It comes down to cut in the moolah.

Some taxation issues and repatriation of money to Canada might be different depending upon whether you are a Canadian citizen ( with OCI) or Indian citizen. Consult a CA about that. But selling property itself won't be an issue. Also you need a NRO or NRE acc in India after you get Canadian citizenship. The regular Indian ordinary resident account with Indian bank won't work and is illegal to have that. You will be forced to convert that into a NRO account.
