Networking: ANYBODY FROM DUBAI
Started by: mamz on 25 Mar 2005
...Hello to Dubaivasi's I've been to Dubai on stopovers, but never stayed more than a few days in Dubai. Since the last twenty months I've been interacting to a lot of people from various parts of the world, in particular with people of Indian origin who have been in Canada for the past three years and waiting for their passports. Some of them have worked in USA, Europe, Singapore and in Africa too. The message I gather from them, which I would like to pass it on to you all, is that the life you lead in Dubai is the best in the world in today's standard. You earn the best salaries, work in quite proffessional set up's, are away from India (just 3 hours) and can lead a ...

Now, my question is since he also needs to get his Indian passport cancelled, does he send the Indian passport also by mail OR does he go personally to the Consulate to get the passport cancelled and apply for the visitor visa simultaneously? There might be many in the forum who have undergone this transition and I shall appreciate if you can share your experience on this Thanks ...

Where to settle: thorncliff park or Missisauga for newly landed immigrant

I would strongly recommend this area to anyone first landing in this country. Thereafter, once you learn about different areas and your preferences and school choices..... One can make a more conscious move.....

Dinner is our biggest meal, omitting carbs is difficult with dinner but we try to limit how many rotis, or how many spoons of rice we have. I really should start thinking about making lighter dinners, but often we both crave the richness of indian foods, and pastas (esp. me!) I do use whole wheat pasta too now. I love bbq's as it's easier to cut out the carbs altogether - you got your meat (protein) and your veges and salads. We don't take any supplements as we don't work out as much as you do. Weekends is the hardest for me....I try not to pig out on the stuff I've deprived myself of all week, but the cravin...

It actually has some useful tips for getting the most out of your visit - finding the cheapest food in the park, avoiding line-ups, getting pictures with the characters without waiting too long, etc. If you don't want to buy it I think the Toronto Public Library has some copies of past years versions.

That’s the reason for the 11 pm move. The producers got the stay on it. BB4 gone bad due to abusive language and other scenes. Clamping on it by the Indian Govt is a double standard.
