Citizenship: On OCI - Can i sell my property in India
Started by: alexsteward on 02 Jan 2019
...etter to sell Indian property before getting Canadian Citizenship? Any suggestions![/quote] Yes you can sell your property after OCI and Canadian citizenship. Some taxation issues and repatriation of money to Canada might be different depending upon whether you are a Canadian citizen ( with OCI) or Indian citizen. Consult a CA about that. But selling property itself won't be an issue. Also you need a NRO or NRE acc in India after you get Canadian citizenship. The regular Indian ordinary resident account with Indian bank won't work and is illegal to have that. You will be forced to convert that into a NRO account. The money from the sale of the flat will go into the NRO accoun...

Citizenship: Double Nationality ! which passport do you use to enter/leave India?
 Started by: wisse69 on 12 Sep 2008
...Can't you get India visa or OCI/PIO card? There is no such thing as dual nationality as far as India is concerned. Once you take up Canadian citizenship, you automatically give up Indian citizenship. Why do you want to enter India illegally? It is unlikely you will be able to board the plane from Canada without a PR card if you show Indian passport.

When I came to Canada, I spent $ 8000 in 6 months. Only after 6 months I got a job. 1. Food banks are for you. They are not for homeless or desititutes. Gora's are in good jobs and donot use it. Lot of food goes waste. 2. Use COSTI/ Skills for change etc.. They are for your use. Use them max.. 3. Soup Kitchens are to help you. Just as an FYI, if you're looking to attend Centennial or Seneca, then you'll spend almost 2 hrs to/fro each day if you live in Mississauga/Brampton, even if you drive. As a suggestion - once you narrow down on your college, then look for a place around there. You'll find desi's and desi groceries almost in every corner of Toronto.
