If you apply the OCI Card (that you can't if you are not resident) in USA, Indian High Commission will charge you $275 If you apply the OCI Card In Canada Indian High Commission will charge you $421 which means $100 more than they should actually charge.

And assuming the total expense as 2.5 K (rent, food, car, other expenses), the saving will be just 1.5 K which is around 80K INR. So when I agree that this is better than my current monthly salary of INR 1 lakh, I don’t think it is “too good to be true” considering other factors about staying in India and abroad. Can you please tell me why do you think it is very good salary for a person getting INR 1 lakh per month in India?

   ...The only issue I see is address validation. Most Canadian websites have required field entry for province and some even validate the first 3 characters of the postal code. Indian addresses won't pass those checks, esp. province. Same issue using Canadian credit cards on US websites that require entry for state and zip code. I found it easier to use Canadian credit card on Indian websites rather than other way around.

The price doesn't seem to be off the chart compared what was being sold in the past. Has the real estate slowed down at last ? Do you see the same around your area ? I see the "For Sale" sign more than usual. Is it really the school season or the soft real estate economy. I am getting to think it is the later.. Thanks.
