...Superbly Expressed. Read the article below: The recent spate of bashings of Indian students in Melbourne is an appalling episode in Australia's history. It is a serious social, educational, diplomatic and probably economic crisis that no one is taking seriously enough. The performance of John Brumby's Victorian government has been pathetic. It has stumbled from bland denial to belated symbolism, never acknowledging the gravity of the problem or its own culpability and not taking any serious action...

In a strongly worded statement, India's Foreign Minister, S.M. Krishna, said he was "appalled" by the attacks and insisted authorities ensure the safely of Indian students. Mr Krishna was responding to an apparently racially motivated attack on four Indian students earlier this week which left Sravan Kumar Theerthala fighting for his life in intensive care in a Melbourne hospital. When I walked into the Gujarat Durbar, the vegetarian restaurant that Mistry and his wife, Daqsha, opened a couple of years ago, the smells started to speak to me right away. There was the loud cry of garlic and the purr of spinach, followed by a chorus of eggplants and potatoes. They were telling me that this place – and its owner – are serious about food. The Mistrys immigrated to Toronto in the 1980s from Gujarat, the westernmost region of India, and the food they offer is typical of what folks eat back home....

They have all part-timers who don't even know anything about the dishes. There is nothing wrong in having north Indians work in south Indian restaurants as long as they are briefed about the dishes. How can they advise the customers whether it is spicy or not when they themselves don't know anything abt it ?? The service is happazard and not only they take so much time but also serve you yr next table orders !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope they improve !!!!!!!![/quote] I thought the food was okay in quality. But then, I am not a south indian. I ...
