Never count on airline food for a good meal...it's just to keep you from getting hungry during the flight. As long as the plane is relatively new it should be ok. I remember flying Northwest from Bangalore to Amsterdam. Was in a DC 10 that seemed around 20 years old. They didn't even have enough overhead baggage space. Now that was a lousy flight.

Also, the influx of new cars may also lead to people living more sedentary lifestyle. Perhaps GOI should focus more on developing public transportation

You withdraw $5000 from RRSP ..... for Canadian tax purposes this $5000 is added into your income and taxed.... For Indian tax purposes, your withdrawal from RRSP doest trigger Taxable event.... What indian tax system cares for is "what you earned during the year" (i.e. income within your RRSP).... remember, earnings inside RRSP is protected from Canadian taxes not from Indian taxes...... ...

...st, these are laws. Behavior out of social respect is not mandatory. Although it is not an Indian custom to hug or kiss on the street, a couple doing that won't be arrested by the cops, will they? And if they are they can certainly challenge this in court. You may get reprimanded here in Canada if you disrespect someone's religious customs. But unless you're harassing someone, the law will not intervene. And if they intervene without merit, you can challenge this. Maybe I'm not aware, but can you do any of these things in the middle east? Can an Indian take an Arab policeman to a court of law? Can you sue the administration? Is there even a real court of law?...

USA: Indian Embassy Diplomat arrested

...Why would US apologize? This issue is not related to official work done in the consulate by Devyani. Indian media will never say completely what the charges are and what Devyani supposedly did. If the issue is wage dispute, Devyani can show that the maid was paid at least minimum US wages electronically or by cheque but Indian media reports suggest that maid was paid by cash for the amount over Rs. 25-30,000. The US Department of Justice press release is here that details the charges laid by US http://www.justice.gov/usao/n

Ask Immigration Expert: Earnings vs. Expenses
Started by: vishalgrover on 31 Dec 2003
...What are your minimum lifestyle requirements? That would determine how much you need to earn to break even. In Canada, eventhough housing is expensive, cost of food is very less. 50% tax is not true, although it makes a good story. No, you do not need 10 year credit history, 1 or 2 years of good credit history will allow you to buy a house/car on loan. If you contact a mortgage broker, he/she may be able to get you a housing loan even if you had 0 credit history but a good job.

Jobs: Minimum Wage In Canada : Wages in Different Provinces Below

...nally posted by febpreet When you say 'affordable', can you tell me if one can buy 3 level (with finished basement, 2 car garage detached, less than 12 years old house) for $550k in a decent neighborhood with good schools? If the difference between Van and TO is a mere 25-30k, then I think it doesn't make any sense in uprooting myself. I equally don't want to live in a crappy neighborhood with downtrodden schools either. Trust me, Brampton doesn't fare too good with this. Mississauga, Milton, Vaughn, Markham, Richmond Hill, Woodbridge are in the same bracket as Greater Vancouver burbs. I think I should suck it up :).
Febpreet, Thats a lot of must have's for 550...
