Started by: priyavarma on 15 Sep 2008
...Hi Priya! When you talk of your son's visa expiring in the last week of January 2009, I presume you are looking at the visa that has been stamped on his passport. The dates on the stamp indicate that the visitor must enter the country before the expiry date . If your son enters India before the expiry date mentioned, he is eligible to stay for 6 months from the date he entres India, unless the immigration officer writes a specific earlier date under the entry stamp. The soup was blandishly horrible. Chicken fried rice has no taste and no chicken in it all. the only solace was that the rice was basmathi and it was almost like eating white rice. my son ordered masala chicken and the curry was bland too. the chicken flesh was not tastey too.

In any case, I can emphathize with your frustration as I agree some of the visa policies are ridiculous and getting through an Indian mission is like pulling a flea out of elephant's butt. If you have to protest, don't send money to the "desi" countries or don't visit and thereby don't spend money on those countries. Unfortunately, these are the policies and it's your choice to roll over or lodge a protest at the Indian mission. In any case, good luck to you both. Getting frustrated will not get you anywhere....

The beach was good and despite the first layer of rounded rocks the first 2 feet , it is sandy ahead and @ 30 degrees , the water was pleasant for a swim.    ...g on your luck and hard work , you can hopefully get into your field :) Expect to start at a lower level then your job in India, and move upwards. Almost no one gets a job at the same level except maybe IT guys and Finance guys ( to some extent )..due to the dreaded NO CANADIAN experience and NO CANADIAN education...they DON'T care about Indian education or Indian experience :(..no matter how smart or intelligent you are or how much experience you have and which Indian university you went to. Foreign credentials are pretty much worthless and useless in this country..sad but true :( You are pretty much starting from scratch over here..but your wife is and will start at the same level...

There are two types of business opportunities. One is traditional where asians have been doing it for some time (like transportation, retail, real estate, food and services (needing no capital) like real estate agents, insurance agents, financial services etc. The non traditional opportunities are more rewarding like technical consulting, mining services, trading, import/export, logistics, bio technology, construction business etc. Thx Rakesh Srivastava 905-908-0091 ...

Thanks again: ...oned by you it takes atleast 15 weeks to attain US CPA. So tht seems very difficult from the availability of time to me. Just being Indian CA, I don't what exemptions I would get to approach Canandian CA. Recently, I read somewhere on the net (I will try to provide the link) which says that ICAI has come to some understanding with CGA of Canada. According to that Indian CAs have to write only 5 papers instead of 16. If this is true, do you think it is a good idea to get this certification first? Second thing which is impressing me is the bullish stock market all over the world including Canada. I also see the lavish salaries and benefits of Financial Analysts. As such I am seriously lo...

The DESI boss is extremely cost conscious compared to his gora counterpart. They also are more flexible in attitude to that of the goras. With the Indian market growing along with China they see an added advantage that they can cater better to the Asian markets. With cost control as the key we DESI have a bright future for top slots in USA. Keep your resume polished, network on linked in and participate in various groups related to you core competence to catch the eyes of your potential employ...
