Canada is better than USA in this regard, where you have to take extra channels apart from basic cable to view those matches (or go to an English Pub = cost of Beer and food;) ). About American football, i have started to watch it in the last year or so. I find it interesting. it took sometime to like it but I think There is much more to the game than physical prowess. USA: Cost of living (California)

Being on H1B, means if you ever get laid off, your green card process goes back to Square one - Mississauga. 3) I would not live in California for the same reason I would not live in Florida. California lies on the San Andreas Fault line. Even a temporary fleeing alert from an earthquake will shake you to the core. What premium are you wiling t...

In many sense it is much better than American Desi. The story seems complex, as it runs four (or more?) stories in parallel. You could not see any connection with them, but as the story progresses you will realize that. Though there is disconnect, you will enjoy every bit of all the stories. Almost all desis in this part of world can relate one or more incidents from the movie with themselves or with their friends. It is made from around the real instances. “The lo...

Last year and everytime, even today ... we hear from the team owners, from IPL itself and from everyone else connected to cricket that how good the IPL will be for the development of cricket in India. Every team has trimmed down the squad to about 20 from at least 30 last year. All those who have got pink slip are Indian young cricketers. Every team has around 8 foreign players out of which only 4 can be in the team. So if I do the math, Out of 12 remaining Indians - 8 will be almost every other day. I would hate to see Zaheer/Ishant/Munaf breaking down at the end of IPL & not 100% for Team India. Last year we saw Laxman giving up captaincy, earlier Rahul had to surrender, Kaif ...

I do not consider myself socially conservative, but there has to be a line between good taste and vulgarity. And the producers in India seems to have crossed the line. I wonder if there is any censorship prevalent or not. We, in India always blame west for the "evils" that their culture imposes, but never on any Canadian channels have...

...ery store or restaurant & eat 3 samosas for $ 1.00 ? The desi aunty will also give you some green chutney & brown tamarind chutney with it. Don't try to make samosas at home its NOT worth it, you will spend too much time & money making them, its cheaper if you buy them :) Most desi stores don't make anything on the samosas or just break even. They are there to just bring you into their store :) They think you will buy something else , when they lure you in with the Samosas. If you are smart you will just buy the Samosas & get out..LOL ..so you will foil their plan..ha ha. They will make funny faces & angry faces at you, but don't worry be happy & just eat your samosas..ha ha....

...Perfect! Couldn't have said better than this. One of the most sane and sensible post on CD. I agree with you word by word.
Originally posted by Portia It's understandable and admirable that you want your children to keep their Indian cultural identity. It would be ridiculous however to think that they won't also have a Canadian identity. They are living in Canada as a result of your deicisions and actions. Pitting old country vs. new country is bad for your children. You don't have to make the two into two extremes and force your children to chose sides. The values that some people are sugge...

Yes, there are quite a few things which will be unique as Indian values, or traditions, but then the original poster and his supporters should first define (and be clear themselves)what THEY mean as Indian values. Sports: Will India win world cup 2015?
Started by: RBO on 09 Feb 2015
...The way our Indian cricketers are playing its really in doubt that even in India will reach to Semi-final. India were beaten by 106 runs by hosts Australia in their first warm-up match for the World Cup on Sunday. Chasing a huge target of 372 runs, India folded for 265 runs in 45.1 overs. Middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane top scored with a fluent 66 for the defending World Cup champions. Opener Shikhar Dhawan (59) and middle-order batter Ambati Rayadu (53) were also among runs but it wasn't enough to help India's cause. Earlier, twin centuries from opener David Warner (104) and No.4 batsman Glenn Maxwell (122) helped Aust...

You can live right near Bramalea City Center (lots of apartment buildings). Or, near the Bramalea Go Station (there is an almost new apartment building with some vacant units). It is a walking distance from the Go Station but walking during winter can be a challange. I would...
