If you can live with the fact that the child is only given the homework that they are expected to be able to handle (and doesnt need your intervention) and the initially the child may not get all A's, its a great program. Moreover, what was, or is, so wrong in showing a pic of an Indian style lavatory? I am sure, quite a few desis, especially those that have been firmly accustomed to the desi way of crapping, must indeed be missing the squat. Although I myself prefer the commode for comfort, I have to say that the desi style is far better in terms of hygiene. As far as possible, I try and avoid using public toilets here. Who knows what skin infection or disease the previous users had on the seat that you intend to use? Uggh...! I also can't imagine what standards of hygiene thes...

Everything looks so expensive in Canada (HST/PST/GST, high income tax, lower salaries, high cost of food/car/gas/flights/housing and less saving). The nearest Canadian city to US is Calgary,AB (Lowest taxes in Canada, good salaries, less socialist mindset and reasonable living cost)....

Started by: wandering on 03 Jul 2004
...I got married a couple of months ago and filed for my wife’s immigration papers in the last week of May. The application was forwarded by the Mississauga office on June 18th to the New Delhi consulate. Yesterday, my wife got a notice from the CHC New Delhi asking for her passport. However, she has also been asked to get her last name endorsed on the passport. They also mention that “Singh and Kaur as last names are not valid for immigration purpose...

Life: The smell

Even after taking care of everything, many of us stink spices and onions through our sweat. candles, scents, curtains, vents etc are only adhoc solutions, Gradually reducing spices in food and washing (self and clothes in equally high frequency) and not applying that oil in the head are the remedies. Are we on for it ? ...

Our Native Country!: NRI AND NRO ACCOUNT
Started by: reddevil on 27 Dec 2017
DTAA... NRE A/c and Legally avoiding tax pitfalls.: ...ve not linked a TRV- Student Visa to PR. Since your legal requirement for TAX Filing with CRA will be required after your landing and becoming a PR., you can start fresh from the time of landing as the start for your Indian Income reporting etc., and you can conveniently and of course comfortably OMIT all of the previous years earnings out for now. But please have it on you or make it available in case you want to access the same anytime. Some people store it in the CLOUD. It will be good to inform your Banks and Brokers also that you are leaving India and will be an NRI for Tax purposes from such and such date. (Provide them with the copy of the E-Ticket.) NRE A/c will be ideal to have. ...

General: My Emirates flight experience
Started by: johnnybravo on 30 Aug 2007
   ...
Originally posted by febpreet I have found the best solution of all these issues after taking few flights. All I feel concern about is whether my luggage and I have reached my destination. I feel my happiness is about not expecting anything. The more we expect, and if the expectation are not met - the more we feel unhappy. Life is so short to waste on these immaterial stuffs - at least for me. The problems always occur when we have 'this' and 'that'...

Our Native Country!: India won't have unlimited patience if Mumbai-type attack is repeated

And Here India does not have guts to confront them directly, for that matter no other country now has that. What China is doing to harm India? you will find tonnes of articles.
MM and congi are pimps selling Indian interest. Google L&T's CEO statementabout how China is killing Indian manufacturing and MM and Congi are actively supporting that. Only under extreme provocation a smart CEO will make such a public accusation. India keeps exporting Iron ore to China and keeps importing finished steel! MM is touted by ELM as non corrupt. If this is not proof of his corruptio...
