Study: Best University for undergraduate Science -Biochemistry
Started by: kuwaituser on 05 Feb 2005
...Biochemistry is an undergraduate degree in science. Biochemistry is not a first year program. U take up biochem in ur second year. First year courses are the same for all science students... Only an elective could be different. Now to get to the point, I would stay away from Waterloo, Univ of Guelph and Univ of Ottawa. These univs are not considered top universities. Univ of Toronto (mississauga) is not as good as univ of toronto (St. George campus). U need a higher admission average to get into univ of toronto (St. George Campus). Queens, Western, McMaster and Univ of Toronto are equally good univs and it really wont matter if u do ur biochem from these uni...

It is in India only rules change over night. Then I sent my passports to Indian Consulate, Vancouver with fee for all family members and applied for Surrender Certificate (It was clearly written in their web site that it is required if any body applies for OCI, PIO etc.). After a week, I got my passports back with cancelled stamp on it. No Surrender Certificate nothing. When I called VFS again and asked whether they really need Surrender Certificate while applying for OCI, the guy told me that if passport is cancelled that is sufficient. Each time they said that I need a Surrender Certificate - even though the form for OCI clearly said that people who got their Canadian citizenship before 2009 do not need a surrender certificate (which is logical since there was no surrender certificate in 2004 when I surrendered my Indian citizenship). The problem they found with my passport was that it had a stamp of Cancelled - but not the stamp of Cancelled since the holder voluntarily acquired Canadian citizenship. (Funny - the three passports of my 3 family members all have the long cancelled stamped but not my passport!) So after trying it twice without success, I finally decided to app...

[quote] The Rediff Special/ Lord Bhikhu Parekh Why the Diaspora needs India My dear fellow countrymen I share some thoughts and sentiments on the eve of the major three-day conference that is about to take place in New Delhi. This conference is concerned with something called the Indian Diaspora. Indians have been going abroad for the last 2,300 years or more, starting with the post-Buddha era when missionaries went to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. In the 7th and 8th centuries, our people went to East Africa and elsewhere, as part of our involvement in the slave trade. During this period, Gujarati businessmen financed Arabs in...
