Our Native Country!: 500 TCS employees quit after appraisal

...This is not something new. Every year, people leave indian IT companies, and more people join. Attrition rate is still very low for these companies. I was surprised to see that TCS has more than 100,000 employees now. During my days with TCS, we were about 10,000 only, but even that number used to be considered a big number back then!

Indian medical system is no better.. Went for a eye checkup in bombay they eye doctor made me wait 2 hrs till 9.30 pm and then said i will have to come next day again to dialate my eye.. I would have taken me 4-5 hrs for the whole ordeal.. What we get for free we cannot appreciate.. Canada has one of the best health care systems.. it is not perfect it has its flaws, mostly due to bad governance.. If we increase the number of openings for residency then all the issues will be solved as the supply will outstrip the demand.. The CMA is to be blamed for this..

Police is very prompt in arresting young people who post some remarks on Facebook but look at this guy! As far as doctors are concerned, they should be above politics. This is esp. true for test matches - to win a test match you absolutely have to take 20 wickets in 5 days. You can win a test match by scoring less than 200 in each innings, but you can't win without taking 20 wickets. Which is probably why we have been winning so few test matches lately. Bananas, apples, oranges, pears are all less than $1.50/pound. 1 pound is roughly equal to 450 gms. You can check out flyers if you want to! http://www.flyermall.com/web/flyer/store.html May be you can find out other vegetarian friends on the campus and cook and share with them (and ask them to do the same!).

 Started by: jcp_toronto on 19 Nov 2009
...I think Indian education is much better if it is in the field of science/math. I don't know about other fields. You get more chance to solve the problems in schools/universities. Less use of calculators/computers increases the brain power of logical thinking. Look at the competition for the entrance exams like IIT-JEE. I don't see equivalent in Canada. Students in Canada hardly get any home work to do.
