A better(and more cost effective option) would be to apply for a PIO (Person of Indian Origin) card for your newborn. THe PIO is virtually identical to the OCI. Also, the fees for an OCI are $421, whereas that for a PIO for kids is $240. There is also a provision of converting the PIO to an OCI by paying an additional $40. So in effect, you will get the OCI for $280 instead of $421 for your child.

   ...True. As I see Indian's have limited options. Modi is seen as a tyrant and a persecutor of minorities even by many Hindu's and he may not get votes. Congress is lethargic. AAP has its precense only in Delhi. Personally I would prefer Modi with a cavet that he could be impeached anytime, he tries anti minority tactics. But I am Canadian. I canot vote in India. In that case, may be I need to contact SAP official training centre here in Vancouver and if the cost is somewhat similar then I would choose to go with them. I would however, first pursue the self study option. There are a couple of Indian SAP guys in my office for the same domain as I am looking for. Will probably ask them for more input as well. Thanks.

   GTA folks...Think big (Start off by pooling ur suggestions): ...ned out to be a good success. Can some people who attended/organized it list the highlights of that picnic ? And share their experiences ? Number of people? Ratio of new comers to old timers ? Location, Food, ? Identify what could have been done better last time? etc, etc... Assuming, it turned out to be nice, A couple of thoughts: a. Why just one? Think of more than 1 picnics? Maybe one in GTA and others outside(if feasible).. b. I love picnics, but whats a pinic without a beach? How about 1000 islands? Or some park to the far east? Driving: old indian license verification!

   ...they will ask for verification. Last week i got the letter from Mumbi RTO verifying my license and they have accepted that now. I can now appear for my G test. Ask someone back home to mail you the letter. High Comission auithentication is not required a simple letter from Indian RTO will suffice and dont believe anyone who says it wont suffice. It does.
