Our Native Country!: Aravind Adiga wins Booker Prize
 Started by: ramar2005 on 17 Oct 2008
...Aravind Adiga of Mangalore won the Booker Prize of 50,000 pounds for his first novel. A few years ago a lady from Kerala won the prize and that too was for her first novel. Ever since she won the prize, she has been in the limelight and uttering statements on and off to the effect of undermining Indian nationalism. The statement that India should allow Kashmir to cede was viewed with great consternation by none other than our retired Chief of Staff, V.P. Malik. Let us hope that the latest winner does not join the bandwagon.

...Hi AT, Most of the S Indian restaurants have weekend lunch buffet these days in a range of $12 - $13 per head . These include Nilgiris , Udupi Madras Cafe and (perhaps) Sarvana Bhawan also who initially used to have only a breakfast buffet. Swagruhas has stopped their buffet and is only available a la carte ..Still good. Nilgiris Brampton ( we visited them last , last year) perhaps have the most variety of things and the dosas come to your table .. It is good and distinctively have a lunch buffet every day (not just weekends ).. however it is better to confirm before visiting .. Bon Apetit ....;)

... Most LCBO's carry it. Check the store stock online and if you do not find it on the shelves ask for it. If you like KF try Cobra. Great beer for the Indian palate.
Originally posted by meghal Is there any place in GTA that sells Kingfisher beer? I have seen it only in restaurants, haven't seen that brand in LCBO/Beer store. Is there any Canadian brand that has a similar taste to Kingfisher?
