...tamilkuravan, according to the latest posting on the US embassy website (and from what I have seen at the border), you WILL need your canadian passport to cross the border 99% of the time. However you can still try to cross by having your citizenship card and your indian passport with you. The best thing would be to call the US embassy (or even the US Border agency directly) and ask them. Congratulations on becoming Canadian! My wife will be applying next year; I hope it goes as quicklky as yours. p.s.: It doesn't take very long to get your Canadian passport; I applied for my passport the same day I got my citizenship and got

By the way, I am also of the view that Indian FM/AM channels here in Canada are of no match to the ones in India - like radio mirchi, redfm, radiocity etc. Also, Dubai's online 101.6 is awesome too. Radio channels here are mostly family owned and they hire anyone from within their immediate family members (looks like) - same old bhai bhatijawad. Hence, we have a really pathetic RJs.

I enquired with them and they told me that it is not due to space issue as they have people with more lengthy names fully mentioned. Some body dealing with the files messed it up. They didn't understand indian names properly as even one letter is missed, meaning of the name changes. But we have to live with it. I didn't even try to change it. I got my OCI, Canadian Passport also by the same name like as in citizenship card. I changed my driving license, bank accounts all accordingly.

If you wish to make Canada your home for good, please make sure you do not bring Indian vises here. leave them there and contribute positively to make this beautiful country more beautiful and a better place for yourself and your family.

In US all bachelors degree irrespective of field take 4 yrs as opposed to 3 ys in India. So if your Indian BSC is 3 yrs duration there is no way it can be recognised as 100 % equivalent to a us degree unless you have Masters or additional education. That is what I am sayoing. Do you have official letter from a US State board of education accepting your BSC as equal to a US degree and allowing teacher certification. Anyway thia is my last posting on this issue. I am not arguing for or against tipping, but that it exists. Like for ex/ In Indian culture, people given shagun (money gifts etc) whenever there is an occasion. Although this isnt required, we do it for social custom. See it the same way. When I go out to eat I expect that Im tipping for the enjoyment of being served at my table. Other people we customarily tip: taxi driver, hair stylist, esthetician, airport porter etc.

If nobody good in the area do not vote , reject them all and appeal to EC to give ticket to somebody better. But then hindus will chose a hindu and muslims will chose a muslim and will fight. Religion is sucking our country dry. AAP is a good choice for the time if there is a candidate in your area but seems like swaraj is a difficult subject for Indians who cannot live without raja-praja & bramin-shudra setup.

Last year when I was in Sydney I met a lot of Indian Students ( mostly from AP) and they all said they chose Australia as they never got accepted with any schools in North America bcos of their low scores !!
I don't know about Australia, but in US they are there everywhere (and I mean it in good way). If I recollect, even in IIT admissions they got most ranks this year. Per news reports majority of students killed in US(random crime) were from AP. Makes one wonder. Maybe CD's from AP can enlighten as to why? ...

... I request all CDs to share their experiences on the type of questions will be asked at the immigration counter to the returning residents. The officers usually asks basic questions like why you are away for such long time, what did you bring with you, do you have items to declare. Did you bring items like tobacco, alcohols, plants, food etc. All i can say is be truthful & professional when answering. I would say also to concentrate & research more on what you would be doing after landing like searching for a place to stay, How to apply for SIN, health cards, drivers license, day care centers etc. Good Luck... You need to prove that you ( the person in Canada ) has a good salary + you need to tell the consulate that you are taking full responsibilty of the person who is coming. You will bear all expenses whether it is housing / food and most important medical. This is something like a legal undetaking. Hope that makes sense.
Our case was prepared by No.1 lawyer in Canada. Lawyer is also main chair in immigration in ontario bar association. The firm is dedicated with 5-6 lawyers and the one prepared our file had experience in making laws in immigration department serving for govern...

Visiting, Traveling and Picnicing: Stopover in Dubai
Started by: meghal on 15 Oct 2015
...I love visiting Dubai for umpteen reasons , primarily because of nostalgia but majorly because it is such a good combination of the East & the West , one wonders if it can get any better ... You get the best of technology , excellent infrastructure , malls and above all an abundance of Indians & Indian restaurants every where ........ It is quite free , as much as one can wear bikinis on Jumeirah Beach .. Very good for shopping esp jewelry or Gold for the quality and purity ... We enjoy it thoroughly esp coz in winter months , the weather s very pleasant there ... For sure it is conservative as compared to Toronto but the most free city in the ME and by any standa...
