   ...ome(India). I have also got the appointment for Medicals first week of july. Would like to know what to do in this case, should I give change of address to Indian address after Medicals or give one of my friend's address in Canada, so that he/she receives the passport request,then they can mail it to me and I can get it stamped for PR in India? - let me know if this is possible, thanks!

It's gotten to the point where I've stopped going to any south asian gatherings. Whereas the canadian people here all find me quiet but "sweet", "adorable", etc. Why is it just my own people who dislike me so much?? What's wrong with being quiet?    ...nts (money maintained in INR) are the only accounts that can possibly offer these rates. The principal in NRO accounts is non-repatriable; the interest can be repatriated. The bank will withold 30% of the interest amount on the NRO account. You will have to file an Indian Income tax return to get a refund (if you have no other income in India). It can take as much as a couple of years to get an IT refund in India. On top of that, the interest is considered as a part of the world income and is taxed at the marginal tax rate in Canada. Have to weigh in the cost of doing all this versus the money you would expect to gain.

We are trying to find out the name of a Hindi serial that was playing recently on Indian television(not necessarily in Canada). It was a comedy serial and I believe the name was 'Samne wali khirki mein' {or at least the episodes would start with that song or something} I am not sure which network it plays/played on but could have been Sony or Zee. Again it was a comedy serial about a woman, a neighbor and her 2 children I believe....

   Soft Skills A Must for Desi's to Succeed: ... I have always noticed Desi in Ottawa comes out with some real practical tips for success. I totally agree “Soft” skills are very important and no matter what “manners” we are taught back home, We Indian Lack soft skills. More so when we believe in rich and poor our attitude towards are subordinates are totally different back home (look down) and that cannot continue in Canada. Some people on this forum are confusing community service and other stuff to “Soft” skills. cher
