Filmi Gupshup: Did anyone watched movie "Black"??
 Started by: ani70 on 15 Feb 2005
DONT MISS BLACK !: ...Chandresh u r right , SLB didi visit Helen Keller Institute for inspiraton . I didnt know though that 'ERHF' was a remake of '12 angry men'. However I wudnt suggest u 2 watch Miracle Man first- that way u can enjoy BLACK fresh !! As much as I enjoyed 'Ek Ruka hua Faisla' BLACK is a landmark in Indian cinema ......... U feel the movie more than the scenes and music . With the amount of english thrown in and the lack of song & dance sequence BLACK appears closer to Hollywood movies . Though all have performed outstandingly well but my preference stands out for Rani Mukherjee who doesnt resemble Rani Mukherjee as we know her ......... I applauded Al Pacino as...

Our Native Country!: INDIA-A FRIENDLESS NATION!!

In my opinion this UPA govt has been a total failure but cannot be brought down since there is no capable opposition..:( Personally, I have lost respect for this once intelligent and probably the most 'clean' politician in Indian politics. Are you willing to put aside all your Indian practices and follow Canadian? Like eating with Fork and spoon, each chicken or soup only for lunch (of course only at office). 4. Are you willing to change your accent to Canadian? 5. Are you willing to shave your mush? Esp. if you are having balancing problem, you have to shave it off. 6. Are you willing to party with your collegues to move up the ladder? The more your are flexible, the higher you can go. Murali...

General: Gifts to India: Enthusiasm Derailed
Started by: HelloG on 06 Jul 2008
...ople (except people in IT) live hand to mouth and it is very hard for us to give any more expensive gifts. Now most of my relatives ask for the Iphone (which I canot afford to buy it myself). People donot like electronics, food (Subway has 7 branches in Chennai alone which is a very backward metro), chocolates, Nike Shoes, Ray ban glasses any more. I am sure that they would care less for the $1 deals too. People working outside of Canada, save much more than desi's in Canada. In the Gulf, I used to save 90% of my monthly salary and hence my buying potential was more. In Canada I normally spend 120% of my monthly salary every month and hence no savings per se. In 2006, I happened to be alo...

Desis are mostly in Barrhaven City and may be in Nepean City. They also live in and around the Bayshore Bus Station & Mall (West End of Ottawa). There is an Indian Grocery about 10-15 min walk from Bayshore Mall. But, personally, I dont like that area because you find too many rude kids hanging around the mall area, aimlessly. Hope that helps....

Accounting and Taxation: Non Resident hit with a big tax by C-R-A

The other side is that I had to declare my income while in India and show evidence my tax payment in India and had to pay extra to match Canadian taxes. But, that worked out good since even though my salary was higher per Indian standards, I got the benefit of Canadian salary bracket since my salary per canadian stadnards has not been too high. Since I am now back, I hope not to have any issues on a go forward basis. T...

Family Class: Requirements for Sponsoring Spouse
 Started by: singh2007 on 09 Oct 2007
... Hello Everyone on this forum You people have been doing great job in giving advise. Hope I could get some too. I am going to India next month to get married. As a typical Indian marriage, it will be an arranged one. I have not seen the girls so far. I have spoken to some on Yahoo messenger( not even phones).
