Much more than that: ...at you do not have to go to consulate/VFS every time you plan to go to India or if an emergency comes up requiring travel to India.
I must say that OCI is much more than just a life long visa. It is almost equal to Dual citizenship barring eligibility to an Indian passport, purchase of Agricultural lands, voting and holding a public office. You get NRI status meaning that you have special previlages for contributing to the foreign exchange. One such is special reservation (under NRI quota) in top notch educational institutions of India (with NRI higher fees). So it is much more than just a life long visa. Peace...

English Proficiency to Score Mark.: ...If you read my earlier post about my English proficiency you will gain tons of confidence to your question. I studied till grade 12 in Tamil medium and I suddenly started my graduation and post graduation in English medium and I am fortunate enough to complete the course and able to obtain employment in Indian companies. I have also applied for immigration and landed in English speaking country without taking any proficient test conducted by either IELTS or TOEFL or etc. It is very subjective in my opinion you do not require a test to prove your proficiency based on what is your education, and where did you work and how many points you are eligible to score on oth...

Moving Soon: What is Ottawa like?
Started by: AzizTheGult on 02 Feb 2010
...I have lived in Ottawa and would recommend the place to people who are looking for the opinions. Very friendly, significant Indian community, desi restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The downtown Ottawa is excellent. The city is filled with nice parks and walking trails by the river. The cost of living is cheaper than Toronto and winters are similar to Toronto. The transit system is fantastic.
Originally posted by AzizTheGult I am planning to land soon.    ...edural wrangles, and possible red tape that might be involved in purchasing property. I understand that a Permanent Account number and proof of residence are an absolute must to register the purchase of property. That said, how do I get a PAN number? Besides would a valid drivers license with and Indian address be acceptable as proof of Address? What else might be involved, in terms of procedure and paperwork for such a transaction?. Thanks again, for your valuable inputs....

Afterall, when you walk in to an employer's door with your resume dead serious about a position, the last thing you want to get rejected for is not smelling right (odor of Indian curry hanging onto your clothes), or for that matter not looking confident or unable to conduct/particpate in a dialog. Your call....... Best of luck to all of you out there....
