   ...dia? When I look at http://www.immigrationindia.nic.in/ , it clearly says "Children below 16 years of age do not require Registration, on any type of VISA. " I told a friend of mine based on this - he was in India for the last 2 years plus - he and wife holding Indian passports and his 3 yr old kid having a US passport + PIO card. Yesterday when they were flying out of B'lore to US, the emigration official needed the registration certificate. The PIO card (I checked this in my kid's PIO card too) says nothing about exemption for kids. Anyways, after talking to a senior guy, they were allowed to fly out. They refused to take, demanding cash, which will be unaccounted for. Note that less than 2% of the Indian population pays income tax whereas 21 million canadians (out of 31 million population) file for taxes. At least they file for taxes. There will be routine audits. That means there is some system here. Whereas in India, income tax system is far behind. Tax returns filed by celebreties are handled by "special individuals" who are handpicked by the babus. I dont know if it is still the same case but 8 yrs b ack i was pretty amazed to see such ads in the papers. Many desis who are US/Canadian/UK citizens do get such jobs.
