There is a chance that this movie comes across as "Indians are cheats and thieves" and "Indians only need the slightest of opportunity for ripping off goras", etc. Just has "Monsoon Wedding" portrayed a very poor and unrealistic image, I'm concerned this may do the same for some people.    Office party: ...Chicken, Kabab and Biriyani. (all with less spice and with more sourness - Lime) For Vegetarian Items, I would suggest : Lassi. If you could make Nice Ghee Roast Dosa with Sambar , Tomato /coconut Chutney, Potato, They would love it. Idly would also be good, if you can make it softly. You can also take Ladoo, Jangiri, SonPapadi or other Indian snack. Again you can try String Hoppers (available at Sri Lankan Takeouts 25 nos for $3.50) and nice Cauliflower / potato subji (which you have to make yourself as the SL takeouts give horrible side dishes) Bought Samosa's are out of fashion these days unless you can make it yourself with soft outer skin nice filling. All the best and donot forg...

...Thanks everyone for your responses. I was just wondering if you: 1. make it a point to take your child to a temple 2. make them pray every morning after a bath/shower 3. dress up for Indian festivals and take them to temples 4. and for example, send them to Balvihar perhaps 5. teach them some history of India 6. teach them discipline and morals...something as simple as respecting elders 7. take them to India frequently 8. tell them about your parents and grandparents (if they don't live with you) 9. tell them the importance of family and to uphold family values T...

General: WARNING: NEVER IMMIGRATE TO CANADA IF YOU HAVE MARITAL ISSUES

... On a positive note, you got red-pilled, which you might not have otherwise experienced. But then again, it would have been a cheaper red-pill to swallow had the entire process been in India. Btw, Canadian (or any foreign) decrees on divorce are not recognised by Indian courts if one of the parties (especially women) contests it in India. So, basically, women can start their extortion afresh in India, with 498-A, DVC etc. Only maintenance (foreign courts orders), on its own, has some legal basis in India (as they are way more generous on account of exchange-rate). ...

The language they use leads one to believe as if being rich is the only "cool" thing in the world, and that we middleclass people have nothing to live for in this world :D :p
One of the Indian bridal magazines "Asian Bride" has the wedding photos of Laxmi mittal's daughters wedding. Sadly.. I didnt think her outfit was anything special or unique. Why do you feel its acontradiction? :)...

In a perfect world both sets of parents should be equal , but per Indian standards , its the woman who enters the man's family and not vice versa - we still scorn at husbands living with his in-laws as 'ghar jamai ' - I wonder if a similar confrontation would take place b/w the son in law and father in law , in case of a 'ghar jamai' . Perhaps an ideal situation would be when either parties learn the importance of the other and co exist . In b/w the mil and dil , none appreciates what the son/husband goes through . 'between the crocodile and the elephant and being pulled by both sides' . ...

Ask Immigration Expert: CIC Marriage requirements for getting married in India

...IC immigration (Canada) require that the parties also have a civic marriage (court marriage)? I think in India that is referred to as Special Marriage Act ?? Thanx
I can share one experience from 2005 of a Canadian marrying an Indian, the wedding was a regular hindu wedding in India but for the certificate it needed to be registered. To get the registration done, a certificate from Canada is required saying the person in question is not married and a witness was required (I forgot how they were called but some IAS/Allied service ranked people / first class who could attest to the wedding. Good wishes! ~K...
