General: Why wont people learn Hindi or Tamil etc?
Started by: pskopje on 12 Jul 2010
...t I dont agree that the future is English/French/Arabic as one patron suggested purely due to the commercial value and helping us Indians come out of the rut and find jobs etc. My whole idea is to start a discussion as to when will Indians start feeling proud about their languages, speak them and use them regardless of geography around the nation. We need to bridge the gap between these different languages rather than eliminate them. How much revenue is being lost due to localization? Language constraints could prevent people from competing at a national level, prevent them from relocating, conversing etc. How do we bridge this gap for national benefit? This is a huge market for a company ...

I think Indian team is more vulnerable to lost the match on the last day. (you must have seen today what they did on 4th day) So if England is batting second and if they are playing well then you can set defensive fielding and bowl accordingly to restict them. 4) Last but not least, I can bet whatever that if India would have lost the match by following on the england you ppl would have ask Dravid to resign because...

Situation was so bad that I was filling up PC Financial credit card at all shopping centres for the box of cooking for my snacks ( I did not know about food banks and soup kitchens then). I was single and sharing a 2 bed apartment with 3 more people. My rent was around $ 350 per month and $ 200 was the apartment mess expenses. Like a fool, I was cleaning my apartment (alone) every friday as I was afraid that when I left, the landlord will bill me for cleaning expenses when I left. My other 3 roommates used to just sleep as they wer...

Ask Immigration Expert: IBT PROGRAM NORTH PARK SCHOOL
Started by: regar on 11 Mar 2007
... To get into these courses you need about 85% in your 12th grade. If it is a Desi boy then he would end with either Waterloo, UFT doing a Engineering course and he again needs 85% in the 12th grade. If the kid has immigrated from India after grade 10 he or she will kill the Calculus & Vector course and also the Physics course in grade 12. This person will end with upper of 90% in grade 12. If the kid is raised in Canada since grades 2 or 3 they will struggle in both the courses and they will end up with 82 to 85%. Both the boy and girl finish the life science or B.S in Engineering and then ask now what should I do as the job market in GTA is for Insurance, Mortgage, real estat...

Started by: Juicy on 10 Jun 2009
   ...
Originally posted by Juicy Operation Bluestar happened 25 years ago and there was some ceremony in Vancouver to protest it. What do you guys think - 1. Operation Bluestar - Well handled & correct decision by the Indian government. 2. Operation Bluestar - Very bad & totally unacceptable decision. 3. Operation Bluestar - Government had no option and need to take this operation. 4. Operation Bluestar - Government should leave gunmen (terrorist) in the temple and leave them alone. 5. Operation Bluestar - What other options you will suggest. This question comes to my mind as ...

Started by: febpreet on 04 Mar 2013
...You can do following. 1. Make sure that your parents have PAN card . 2. They should open NRE and NRO account. 3. I prefer to open account in SBI specialized NRI branch . 4. They must pay tax on their indian income . 5. Take service of CA in india and CA will manage your parent's income tax concern and can issue certificate that the income tax is paid on amount to be transferred to canada. 6. Your parents can open account in canada and ask SBI NRI branch to transfer fund. 7. No idea about tax implication in canada . I guess that your parent's rental income ma...

Though politics overshadows the lives of all the characters, the heart of this first novel is in the home where Sardarji, a middle-aged Sikh engineer, has brought his new wife, 16-year-old Roop. Moving Soon: Strange Situation !!!! Help

...l have to deal with the airline too - sometimes airlines apply their own rules and logic on who they will allow or not allow from boarding. Once you tell them that you are PR, they will want to see the PR card (or travel document). At that point, you will have to convince them that you are only in-transit. The other question is whether Indian passport holders need transit visas for Canada or not - I don't know. I suspect that they do (just like for the US and the UK). If that is the case, then you will need to have either the transit visa or the PR card regardless. But you cannot be issued a transit visa by CHC because you are already a PR ;) Go figure that  Interes...

Our Native Country!: AAP - Aam Admi Party - Worth knowing before and after December Elections

Just look at his grandiose plans and price control promises. There is no way he can finance the deficit. Indian idiots love dreming about living in Utopia. Khujli is taking them for a ride. By the time Indian idiots grow up, he would have made his millions. Look, where Mulayam, Maya and Lalu are. They were the darlings of hysteric crowds once. Lol! Composing music on the other hand, is very different. there is a big factor of creativity, imagination and natural talent involved.
Read my post. I did not mention GRE score. TCS entrance tests during that time mimicked the GRE exams, while Infosys exams were a copy of puzzles put byy Mukul Sharma (??) in the endgame section of Sunday TOI.
Interesting....yet, Infosys is a much more successful and well known company than TCS. just goes to prove what everyone has been saying here. ...

Although the core Indian values remain, you will find that people are a little more "self serving" and "independant" in the Western Society. Nothing wrong in that, it is just the way it is down here. Family connections can only go so far in this society. It all boils down to the drive of the individual. The process of becoming successful in Canada takes quite a long time. You won't see much savings for many many years as a new immigrant. If you can make it past the first cha...
