   ...r someone who eats a lot but can only prepare basic food and relies mostly on food that you get home put in microwave and eat (ready to eat types indian food) Goes out to a bar once a weekend for 2-3 drinks and dinner so 4 times a month As i cannot cook much maybe goes out to a decent restaurant for 4 meals in a week excluding weekend bar outing. That adds up to 16+4 meals outside Newspaper, heating, electricity, cable etc. DO NOT consider car cost or commuting cost. Scarborough and Markham and York are all gang dominated areas. You can walk safely on the streets in mississauga anytime of the night or day. There are many indian stores and its not Desi dominated like Brampton. Mississauga has all cultures to offer to its people. Since we come from India, why do we want to live beside Indians only.    ...cific Metro area I can give you my favorites. As I lived in different parts of Metro toronto here is my list. The Host in Markham (or Richmond Hill), consistenly great food. Nice atmosphere. Not that expensive. Avani in Mississauga. Great atmosphere. Very expensive. Sankalp in Brampton. Great Mumbai/Gujarati style South Indian Dishes. Brar in Mississauga. Overall very good, bit crowded but really worth waiting for seats. The other Brars in the metro area are not that good.

Not having a car has helped me save towards a downpayment for a house (specially considering the high auto insurance rates). Besides, i live at a place which is closeto a number of small stores, 2 grocery stores (No Frills and Food Basics) and the subway is a 7 minute walk. But if u like HOT Indian food (Indian Style), the best place I knew was Bombay Choupati in Pierrefonds (DDO). The Tandoori they serve is real Tandoori (cooked in Tandoor), and they serve Masala Dosa/Idlis, etc, etc....yummm.... Its a small place but the food is really good....    ...eems so far from Mississauga. I have been frequenting Sarvan Bhavan (once a week) for the past few weeks and have noticed the taste and texture of the food change a little bit. The sambar isn't as great as it used to be, I think they've started using local masalas :p. Still its better than any other South Indian option I've tried in Toronto. It will be nice if Udupi gives them some competition, I will certainly have to try them soon.
