I guess Meghal is a Gujju so he would understand a Gujju proverb “ Man ma paranvu ane man ma randvu” which means that a psycho thinks of something which entertains him, gets high and when reality hits hard, gets deflated. Meghal, you do the same. LOL! I am happy that you are inventing equations and find solution on your own and then feel very happy. Nice way of entertaining yourself. By the way, I have never claimed that BJP is always good though Kangress is always bad. I have criticized BJP/ Vajpayee and Modi many a times. You probably want me to keep a master l...

Nowhere the reporter has tried to verify the story by at least trying to contact so called perpetrators/ police or some other witnesses. I do not know how much credence to give to this account of the reporter of Rediff. Also this Tamil id guy has tried to malign India. The story does not suggest that P...

IMO, the much published run-ins of AK/AAP against Jung is because of the power politics and immaturity of AK of how to run a govt. AAP does not understand the basic hierarchy of power in a democracy, especially in Delhi which is a very complex state being national capital, union territory and a municipality. He keeps demanding power from other entities which have collectively governed for past 65 years despite this complexity. Both BJP and AAP have to pull up their pants ...

This is another cause for unhappiness. After all the years of living in a truly Indian culture in India it is obviously going to be a vast culture shock. Something that we will never be fully able to imbibe the Canadian way of living and habits. I believe if you try to conquer the negative aspects like a good job, nice home, kids doing well in school and a vacation once every two years then there is no need to return to your homeland. Had not Hindus survived the biggest Holocaust ever of our human history – that of the Islamic invasions and kept their faith? How to undermine Hindus? Macaulay and a few peers, such as the redoubtable Lord Curzon, found that the best way was to go after their gurus and demean them. As French historian Alain Danielou noted in his “Histoire de l...

...e is just another politician, dishonest and corrupt. But I do believe in "degree" or level and by any standard , he will be a better PM than Lalu, Mulayam , Madmohan or Mayawati. I personally do not see any chance of BJP coming to power given Indian demography and caste divide and India is destined to be ruled by puppets like Madmohan. I wish you had a little commonsense and intelliegence to understand that if Modi happens to be PM, world will bend backwards to invite him. As a PM he will represent a major ecnomic power like india and no one is not going to deny him visa, not especially USA which has been now reduced in stature. PLease keep your wishful thinking and childish...

I dont disagree that there is a find balance, but the balance does not have to be so illusive if the moderators made is clear the expectations of this forum and enforce that across the board. You cannot have set of rules that apply when we talk about "indian" topics.. and not apply the same rule when you talk about "canadian topics". As for me complaining, I am not. I have no control over this to change it, if anything.. I am just highlighting the issue. My comments could be considered as complaints if I was to somehow benefit from the change. The core issue is that tomorrow.. some moderator could...

There was significant difference between difference between what goras are getting and what WP holders are getting. Although in terms of Indian Ruppess I was able to save 50-60K per month (thanx to 1GBP=84 Rs) but that too only by living in shared accomodation. We shared a flat with the family of my colleague. The misunderstandings between the ladies at home affected our relationship at work. I explained this to my employer a number of times. But he was under the impression that we Indians want to settle in the UK and hence could afford to work at low wages. All the Indians stuck in that company are wait...

Life: Negative stereotype of men in TV commercials

...ppressors. However, I believe that when it comes to qualities of bad or good, or being oppressors are gender neutral. Any person in power can abuse it to oppress person below them. e.g. - The character of mother-in-law in Indian society is most of time an evil one who oppresses or tortures her daughter-in-law until the point of burning/killing her. Or movie/novel "Disclosure", where Michael Crichton has explained this whole concept of power and its abuse. Also, it is a fact that women are being more vocal in their feelings against oppression than men. Men are more of \"silent sufferers\". Making them a butt of men in stupid jokes in commercials do not do any good for t...

...Few tips from me 1. If you've really made up your mind to come here, ignore the people who claim to "expose the grim reality" of Canada. This is hyperbole, there are thousands upon thousands of desis who are doing quite well here. It really is a beautiful country and although there may be some initial challenges, most people do settle down quite nicely over time. What I've found is most people who are good in communication and enterprising do quite well. People who are poor in ...

Unforgettable Tour Canada: ... really good too...I've seen Preity before and though I'm not a big fan of hers...I would still go for everyone else. I still know its going to be stellar performance. I do feel yes, maybe the prices have alienated working class families who love indian movies and would like to go and maybe in the future that would be taken to consideration. Again, the closer seating and stage should make up for that. Everyone will be able to see them I'm sure....Live performances are far more fun than you think. A pair of shoes won't last you as long as a fond memory of your favorite star in a live performance!!! I never get sick of going to see my favorite stars. and its really Amitabh....he is ...

So I would appreciate if any one know updates on time line as when the visa may be issued?? As i have been noticing that in the last quarter of 2008 new applicants have gotten their passports stamped roughly in abt 4 weeks time...from the time they submitted the passport to the embassy....Any thoughts/ suggestion would be greatly appreciated..... ...

Keen to exploit you for theuir upliftment, Chamcha's Gora's : Easy going but have an eye on task completion etc... Will be very dissapointed if you donot meet a deadline after promising it. I think Indian a.k.a. brown skinned always face discrimination, everywhere, let be Middle east or Canada. Ok..nobody in Canada is going to throw you out of the country because you are theoritically a citizen of Canada, but, mind you, you are always an alien in Canada...try to cross to US with a Canadian passport, you will understand that. For example, I am from Bangalore, India. If I read the local editions of Times of India, Deccan Herald, Indian Express or Praja Vaani, the crime news can scare me to death. And that's just "reported news". So, no matter what city's local newspaper you read, most of the times, you WILL find bad news. I have been in Toronto for the past 9 years. I have roamed downtown and many suburbs well past midnight several, several times. Sometimes alone, sometimes in the company of people. I have not run into any ki...
