Have Fun!: Driving in India - too funny :-)
 Started by: hopesrforever27 on 30 Apr 2010
...This hilarious article was written by an Expert from Baan, Netherlands who spent two years in Hyderabad. Driving in India For the benefit of every Tom, Dick and Harry visiting India and daring to drive on Indian roads, I am offering a few hints for survival. They are applicable to every place in India except Bihar, where life outside a vehicle is only marginally safer. Indian road rules broadly operate within the domain of karma where you do your best, and leave the results to your insurance company. The hints are as follows: Do we drive on the left or right of the road? The answer is "bot...

One should analyse why Hindus are so much under attack at the moment. First, there is such a thing as karma. Bill Gates donate 100 million dollar in one visit, Steve Wagh opened an orpahange in Calacutta, CRY gets more funding from foreigners than NRI, NRIs are mostly in the news when the kids are getting married and spending millions in Victoria Memorial and UP. You are right Chandreshh, I am CONFUSED as why it is so? We deserved to do better for our...

Business: This can push India into darkness...

...n per-capita emission. The country's industrial electricity tariffs are amongst the highest in the world, a measure aimed at deterring wastage. Nevertheless, it is under pressure to cut pollution to battle climate change. This is at a time when the nation's demand for power is rising with more Indian middle class buying houses and electronic items. India has committed to contributing towards reducing "carbon intensity". It has set a goal to rein the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted per unit of economic output by 20 - 25% until 2020. However, what is the price that the nation will have to pay? Does this mean that India's future will once again be pushed into 'darkness'? ...

Jobs: Retirement in Canada after immigrating.
Started by: Gaulam on 18 Apr 2008
...nill... So I was curious to hear from folks who have real knowledge of that society as it stands today. I am beside myself with this OVERWHELMING FILTH in India. But I am not going to argue since I have no real knowledge. Next year I am planning on taking a month's vacation to India to check out the surface of Indian culture and reality for myself. As far as Canada is concerned, with conservative investments, mostly GICs and some direct investment through TD waterhouse (I use them), one could make about 60 grand a year from 1.5-2 million CAN$. I am making right now 4.1% APY from GICs purchased a few months ago, but the recent rate cuts brought the GIC rates (if purchased now) to about 3%. If...

Our Native Country!: Chandrayaan - A waste of tax payers money

Be proud of India !: ...dy done it, said, “Moon mission cost is less than Rs 400 crore, which is just ten per cent of annual budget of ISRO spread over many years.” The cost of Chandrayaan-1 which has been scheduled to be launched on 22nd October is nearly Rs 386 crore, which includes Rs 100 crore for the establishment of Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) at Byalalu. This will help to perform the task of getting the radio signals transmitted by future satellites, not just Chandrayaan-1. This mission is also India’s first unmanned lunar mission. The officials of ISRO feel that those who are against this mission are actually not fully aware with the facts related to the mission. Satish clarified, “For exam...

I remember in the last company I was working at in Canada, it boiled down to promoting an Indian lady whose English was excellent and had a strong working ethic and an Eastern European lady whose English sucked, and still sucks, but to her credit had a strong work ethic. Whether you want to believe it or not, the Eastern European lady won out because of her skin colour. I am only citing here the last experiences I had, but I can go back all the way to 1982 and from then on cite tons of examples where people with questionable English skills were hired and where people of a lighter skin colour were prefered over t...
