If you want your Indian citizenship back, you will have to give up your Candian citizenship. OCI/PIO is not equal to Indian citizenship.

As Chandresh said don’t go to restaurant instead go to food court or hawker center. About shopping, computer, electronics and especially photographic equipments are cheaper in Singapore, but beware of fraud. Singapore is also famous for its custom made suits and they can get you one in couple of hours. You will find them mainly on orchard road....

Believe me or not, I always had best service in Air India / Indian Airlines might be because I used to request them when I need something in place of ordering them. At last they are not our maids. Crew has to have a real good training to fly from Gulf to India to handle the passengers who are seeing liquor, unveiled women after 2-3 years. They treat the Air hostess like their maid literally and they expect Johny Walker to flow like river in the plane. Any how, I've learned to keep my expectation low...

   ...6 issue? There is a good article reg obesity in India. Looks like it is catching up very fast, would be in par with USA in the matter of time. Some reasons: Less walking, more junk food, eating more during dinner especially for kids (“they need to be strong”). IMHO, Indians were denied good things for a long time during the CONgress rule. Since the economy has opened up, middle class and above desis are out of control in eating habits. Less walking since almost everyone has at least a two wheeler, eating out big time, eating while watching TV, eating late, etc contribute to the obesity.
