Back by overwhelming demand, Why Not Theatre is proud to present legends of Indian film and theatre, Naseeruddin Shah & his wife Ratna Pathak Shah in Beyond Bollywood, with 2 award winning plays from Motley Theatre Group (Mumbai, India), Dear Liar & Ismat Apa Ke Naam at the new Regent Park Arts & Cultural Centre.

The Shah's are back in Toronto after a one night only sold out run of Ismat Apa Ke Naam in Feb 2011. These year the two plays are:

Dear Liar (Performed in English, Sept 28/29/30) is an American classic about the taboo love affair between canonical playwright George Bernard Shaw (played by Naseeruddin Shah) and Mrs. Patrick Campbell, a famous actress of the time (played by Ratna Pathak). This is the first time the Shah's are touring Dear Liar outside of India, and we are really excited for this one of a kind cultural crossover!

Ismat Apa Ke Naam (Performed in Urdu/Hindi with English surtitles, Oct 5/6/7) is an adaptation for three beautiful and witty short stories by one of India's most beloved playwrights, Ismat Chughtai. Performed with incredible poetry and grace by Naseeruddin Shah, wife Ratna Pathak and daughter Heeba Shah, this special show is bound to please once again!
