Post on your local freecycle group and you'll definitely get some for free!
Don't forget to freecycle them back once you are done.

Whatever everyone has suggested seems like those fruit boxes or boxes which are open from one side or similar.
If you go to shops like Benix, Cannes etc. you will get full carton boxes which are like normal NEW carton boxes used for packing.
You might also find a place where they usually dump it to be taken away for recyling. It is easier to find such places if they are in those industrial area and not malls since malls have centralised rubbish area.
I had taken about 50 odd boxes - all very good material and conditon, and in different sizes as per my needs when I moved 3 years ago.
Since these cartons have already been flattened out, it is easy to carry them with you - all you have to do at home is to use packing tape and recreate cartons.
