Hi,
Iam with an indian company in IT(Skill Type A). Came to Toronto 1 year back. Now planning to change my employer.
Questions:
1. How do I search for employers who process LMO?
2. Any chance of getting Open Work Permit?
3. Do we see any possible changes to CEC PR application process in 2011/2012?
Thanks
Hi Inideal,
1. How do I search for employers who process LMO?
If you have the skill the any employer can initiate the LMO process. So you should start giving interviews and try to get an offer. I have heard of Indian IT majors like TCS, Wipro and Satyam doing this.
Or you need to have some jugaar with a small IT company and they might get you a work permit changed (for some cost) but you will have the option to take up contracts only in that case.
So how it works is they give you an offer letter with a designation which is exempt from LMO. As a foreign IT worker CIC has some special provision which is applicable only till 30 Sep you or the employer will not need the LMO

2. Any chance of getting Open Work Permit?
If your spouse is on a closed work permit you have a chance to get open work permit otherwise no.
3. Do we see any possible changes to CEC PR application process in 2011/2012?
Cant Say...CIC might change just a guess
Thanks a lot...
