10 years in Canada for me, and life's still lonely without friends. Don't worry, over time you will automatically find many 'Potluck' friends.
Try 'meetup.com' and see if you could find any Indian meetup, or the one with the like minded people. You have a chance now. Meet diverse group of people, it will open your perspective. Unless, of-course you're only looking for Desis.
Victoria BC is a beautiful city. Explore it as much as you can.

I've been here 5 months and sometimes it drives me crazy not to have anyone to even talk to! Unfortunately I broke my kneecap and have been struggling to get things going. But, I guess, I know, once I'm out and about again, things will get better.
Victoria is indeed beautiful and the best place to be in winter, away from the sub zero temperatures! ;-)
How's the weather in Vic today? It's beautiful here in the Lower Mainland with 16 Degrees and sunny. No jackets today
