I have a dish network system installed 4 months back (and got zapped once till date). The dish contains a ROM 10 card. The person who installed the dish suggested that i should NOT install digital locks / T-SOP locks,or such similar items since these could harm the receiver for which the costs of repair would be higher when after being zapped. With my limited knowledge on such matters, I choose to follow his advice.
My query: Is this a safe option or is there a better option for my system. The option is being expressed in terms of repair cost and convenience of viewing the system without noticeable interruptions. Your advice, in non-technical system terms, would be appreciated. Thanks.
