The purpose of this event is to promote healthy living and general health awareness, particularly pertaining to the South Asian community, for all age groups. Physicians & Surgeons from various medical specialties including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynecology, Diabetology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Orthopaedics, Dentistry, Sleep Therapy, Dermatology, Endocrinology will be present at the fair.

They are all outstanding members of our community who will be able to easily communicate (in English and in other Indian languages) subjects and topics pertaining to their specialties, that are of very high importance to the South Asian community, in simple and understandable terms so that all the information is easily conveyed to the general public.

A Health Exhibition will be the main event of attraction, where various diseases profiles will be displayed and discussed and how they can be prevented will be displayed through CDs/DVDs/Video/Charts, booklets and information sheets.

The public attending the fair will have the opportunity to get their blood tests done for sugar, cholesterol, etc. on the spot at no charge. Respiratory tests will also be conducted, at no charge, and are particularly useful for smokers and asthmatic patients.

Various pharmaceutical companies will be present to better inform the public as well, on various methods of treatments and control.

The fair is being organized by Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in cooperation with Dr. Shivani Sharma of Middlefield Medical Centre, and Miss Shusmita Sharma of the South Asian Young Adult Association (SAYAA).

EVERYBODY IS INVITED!

So please come on out, old and young, to support our community in this endeavour! This is also a great opportunity to learn more about these various specialties of Medicine.
