Mehboob Studio was established in May 1995 at Ludhiana (India). At present it has four branches, two in India, one in U.S.A. and one here in Canada. Mr. Ravinder Jassal founded and established Mehboob Studio with a dream of exhibiting the rich culture of Punjabi Community through the medium of pictures, both still and moving.
Mr. Jassal, who started his career as a television and radio mechanic in Jagraon (India), always wanted to make it big in the show business. This desire brought him to Bombay Film Industry where he worked as an Assistant Director. His directorial ventures include some major Hindi and Punjabi movies, stage plays and tele-plays. Having succeeded as a photographer, writer, actor, director and what not, Mr. Jassal has proved himself as a very good artist. This has been possible mainly because of his sincerity, hard work  and dedication to his profession.

Arriving in Canada in 1999, Mr. Jassal wanted to keep in touch with his artistic activities aimed at promoting Punjabi Culture. He opened the Canadian branch of Mehboob Studio in October 2000 in Mississauga. Studio branches in India and U.S.A. are managed by his brothers Rupinder Jassal and Rajinder Jassal who are equally interested in artistic activities and well experienced in photography, acting and painting. The Jassal brothers will continue making their contributions to the culture of Punjabi and other Indian communities in Canada, U.S.A. and India through photography, staging plays, producing telefilms, documentaries, video magazines, etc. Ravinder Jassal has already directed a Punjabi play “Pinjrey” (written by Major Mangat) in Canada. There have been three sold-out shows of this play in Brampton, Mississauga and Etobicoke. Several other shows of this play have been planned.
