Hi Samurai,
I think I already did......Unless you were looking for specific answers then can you ask specific questions.

I am an Engineer myself and had been out of my field for approx 9 months in 2003. Two interviewers "politely" informed me of this as a weak point for engineering professionals (and they didnt hire me).

Your comeback to that question could have been that I cannot sit idle (need to put food on the table at the end of the day) at home and I like to keep myself busy. THere could have been many possible answers.......but I am trying to think of it and I cannot seem to come up with many. Easier said then done

Besides they also know themselves how difficult it is to find a job given its a foreign guy with foreign credentials. I think its just sugar coating it that we dont want to hire you coz we can do better or some other reason.

Let me give you an example. When I came to Canada my company in India as well as companies in Canada & USA were in process of transition to API682 standards. I was part of the development process. Now after 2 years more than 75% work is over . Where do I stand a chance to get a job when systems have changed........I believe that is what Faisal wanted to say in his message. Does my argument of putting food on table make good for the company. I am obsolete for them now.
