Hi
I am plannign to get sitar from india to Canada by flight. Please let me know any tips or suggestions for this.
I would like to know if flight persons need a box for this, if so, should that be a wooden?
do they charge extra?
Or is it considered as luggage?
What are the airlines where they accept Sitar instrument as a luggage.
Has anybody brought to Canada by flight.

If there is any other method of bringin please let me know.

I have seen many people travelling such odd articles the notable onces are golf kits. You should check with the airlines to know it better. Call the airlines local office and they should be able to answer your question.

For the check-in luggage I guess the criteria is only for weight and not the dimention so it should not be a problem to carry it. You should pack it in a wooden box for its safety.

And yes, once you are here please let us know so that we can have "Canadian Desi Sitar Vadan" show!!

It is a long flight so maybe you can play it on the way this way there will be free inflight entertainment.
