Hi!

I've planned to migrate to Canada next year. Can someone let me know if there is Shia comunity living in Toronto.

Ali,

There are many Muslims in Toronto area. I am not sure where are Shias. I hope someone can answer that.

Other respondents,

C'mon guys! There are many things for which you need your community - like celebrating festivals, doing rituals, finding ethnic foods or specialities.

Please don't discourage someone by posting such comments.

BV and Desi Raja ..... Being Canadian does not mean losing your religious or cultural identity. Infact the Canadian government even encourages your religious or cultural identity. That is way you see the PM congratulating people on diwali & eid.

On another note Shia is not a caste, but a denomination of Islam. It's just like being a roman catholic or protestant in Christanity.

So let us give our new friend, Ali Bhai, a nice big Desi Canadian welcome to this forum.

There are enough negative vibes in Canada, let us not drag that into each & every topic.
