Hi,
Would appreciate it if someone can help me with some of my questions

1) What sort of weather can I expect last week of March - 1st week of April.

2) Would couple of sweaters and a leather jacket be good enough.

3) If # 2 is not enough can anyone recomend where I can buy XXL size good winter jacket in Toronto ? Are XXL sizes available in regular stores ?

4) For someone who has never driven in snow before would you say it would be ok to drive from Toronto to Detroit in last week of March ?

5) Is there normally a big differential in the price of rental car if booking in advance v/s getting at last minute. I want to be flexible with my plans.

Thanks

To Answer your questions:

1) Decent weather at that time. Bit chilly early in the morning and during the night but pretty decent overall.

2) Yes

4) It would be fine to drive to Detroit. There shouldn't be any snow at all left on the ground.

5) The rental car companies have deals near the end of the month (from my experience). I'd reserve a car before you get here though.

Hope this helps
