Citigroup is to eliminate 26,500 employees in USA and UK. Moving jobs to low-cost location....where else...India.
To fire 17000 employees initially and about to hire 9500 in India.

It is a logical move by Citigroup. It is said that Citi group is the largest bank/ fin. Institution in India.
Recently a cousin of mine who is studying 3 rd. year in a self financing collge got placed in Infosys. B'lore for 22K a month. Therefore as jobs are cut in the USA/Americas/EU, more and more people in India will get employment, even if they are not qualified.
TK A
Sidenote : I am not sure as to how long this boom will last in India.

Is 22,000 a month good salary in India ? I was getting 25,000 rupees in 1991 in a multinational with just a engineering diploma after 12 th that time.

2000 was the average salary in India in 1991 for a Diploma-fresh candidate.
4000 - 5000 for a BE-fresh graduate.
25,000 in MEast.
But u got 25,000 in India, right after engg.diploma?
