'Tourist' I agree with you. You know what? I have found the best solution of all these issues after taking few flights. Now when I travel, I really don't have any service expectation from ANY airlines. I really don't care if the crew is courteous, cheerful, or whatever, in-flight food (which is always crappy). All I feel concern about is whether my luggage and I have reached my destination. I feel my happiness is about not expecting anything. The more we expect, and if the expectation are not met - the more we feel unhappy. Life is so short to waste on these immaterial stuffs - at least for me.

The problems always occur when we have 'this' and 'that' expectations. For me, the money I pay is about getting me from one place to another. As simple as that.

Enjoy...

Lufthansa all the way. They are bit stringent on the luggage. So if you are student and you want to get a lot of cheap text books from India then watch out!

Wonderfully put!

IMHO, if we have this attitude in life, most of the problems will be solved. It's only when we start having high expectations from strangers, we feel led down when unfulfilled.

In the end, its all about reaching from Point A to Point B, where our loved ones wait for us.:k

By and large all airlines services are crappy, expensive, and air craft meals are not tasty and most of the flight attendants are non-courteous during their in flight services.

Female Air hostess are generally very friendly with ONLY PILOT (because of their deeper pocket) and frequent flyer's and occasionally with Co-Pilot and never with general air passengers who is flying one in a year or three years once and expecting a bottle of Johny walker in a 8 hours flight.

Generally flight attendants hate passengers those who ask more services. I hate long flight journey specially to MAA from YYZ via any European airports but I have no option

All I can say is there must definitely be something wrong in YOUR attitude during the flight to make you pass such a judgement. I have travelled various airlines - and definitely have had bad experiences too - but they are miniscule when compared to the good ones that I have had (including sitting in the cockpit with my wife and two children in Air Canada while flying over Alaska - and we were just economy class passengers sitting way back in the aircraft! All I had to do was ask once - way back in 2000)

From the postings I gather that the service in Emirates is normally bad from Dubai to India. But I felt the same in flight from Dubai to London. All the conversations that I posted are what I saw in flight. This time around passengers were very nice but not the flight attendants. Looks like a case of racism.

I heard from my friends that their service used to be good. But after my experience I am avoiding it anymore. So I am not going for their Direct Toronto - Dubai Service.

Air India also has similar service. They used to be good 8-10 years back. Not any more (not at least from Canada).

If you are flying by Business or First class service is always good. Actually I could see that there is a huge difference in service between Business & Economy class in Air India.

I fond KLM & Lufthansa good. Air France is ok.

But every flight is different.... Currently Emirates & Indian Airlines are able to maintain the same rash attitude towards passengers consistently in all flights :-)
