I have clocked over the 900 hours required. In case, I lose my job and then get another (temp position) one briefly say for 2 months ...
am I eligiable for EI? Or do I need to clock the hours again?
Thanks in advance

For the first claimant - it is 920 hours
After you complete your hours, then unfortunately loose your job (not by your conduct such as quitting), you are eligible for EI. You should apply for it immediately as soon you loose.
Hi,
My question was with regards lets say you get a temp job for 2 months -
are you eligiable to apply for EI based on your first job where you have already clocked 920 hours?
thanks

If you get a layoff (shortage of work indicated on ROE), it would be easier to get your EI. Number of jobs to accumulate the hours required does not matter. If you get a job in between when you are getting EI benefits, your benefits will be adjusted accordingly.

This seems hard to believe.. This way EI is useless for people who change jobs..
U should have contested.. unless u were laid off for cause..

I had 1500 hrs in my first job. I quit that job on myself and joined another company. The other company gave me lay off in just 2 months. AND MY EI did not approve becuase I quit myself the job in which I had 1500 hrs.
So its depend upon your first job, if u quit your self, U do not get it. If they laid U off, then its ok.
