Hi friends,
My mother got extension of visitors visa for one month only when she applied for the extension for the second time. What are the chances of getting 6 months extension if she applies for extension now immediately? What will happen if 30 days time is not left (as per the guide, applications should be made 30 days before the expiry of visa)for the lapsing of visa from the date of receipt of her application for extension ? Any suggestions please?
Masood Bhai,
As i could not reach you as you were on holidays and 30 days time required for filing for extension was expiring,,we applied on our own for one more extension for my mother's visitors visa on 1st april 2004.
Mi dilemma now is we will hear about decision made on our application only during 1st week of May 2004 where as my mother's visitors visa would expire on 30th april 2004. Will there be any grace time given to leave Canada if the decision is going to be negative and they refuse the application for extension? If she leaves say after 15 days of receiving the letter, will it be treated as overstaying and will it affect future applications for visitor's visa/ sponsorship of my mother? I would appreciate if you could find some time and reply as i want to make arrangements for her travel before 30th april itself if necessary, after hearing your advise.
I would be thankful if you can advise whether we can apply for restoration of temporary resident visa and what are the consequences of making such application
Thanks and best regards,
Vijay
