Old proverb "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush " seems to be wrong when I went through the replies given by other CD's .

Growing Old Is Mandatory ..Growing UP is Optional
As per the Visa Bulletin Predictions for FY2011 on Murthy.com, the cutoff dates for EB2 India and China are expected to move approximately one to two weeks per month during FY11. In some months, the dates may not move at all, depending upon the concentration of applicants in any given week.
http://www.murthy.com/bulletin.html
The current priority Date for EB2 India is May 8, 2006 and there are approximately 58 weeks between the current priority Date and my priority Date of Jun 13, 2007.
Assuming that the dates move two weeks per month (best case), it's gonna take 29 months from now for my PD to be current.
With that said, I need to be employed for the next 29 months or at least have a permanent job offer at the time of GC approval.
Another problem is that some EB3 folks with older PD's are porting to EB2 thereby adding to the EB2 backlog.
Since you feel insecure, I would suggest following (hopefully you have advanced parole )
1) Refresh resume
2) start full fledge job hunting
3) if possible take couple week's vacation especially when you start to get responses to resume and folks want to see you in person. Since you will be here during the winter season you prolly will get first hand winter experience as well.
4) If found satisfactory job in satisfactory location come on over and be a canadiandesi.
5) If not then you know you are not making a wrong choice of staying in US.
Worst case scenario...Canadian PR gone and EAD proved invalid..then bolo Bharat Mata ki jai. (I know not so simple but if you are planning to play very safe then come on over. )
I talked to my immigration attorney on this and he told me that I won't loose my line in US GC even if I move to Canada provided i switch from "Adjustment of Status" to "Consular Processing".
In such a case, my US GC will be processed by the US consulate abroad instead of "US Citizenship and immigration services (USCIS)".
This will be true only if you remain with your employer who is sponsoring your green card. (i.e. if he allows you to work from Canada).
