One of the houses down the street had a fire in his basement , most likely illegal and had a tenant living in it.
There were cops and atleast 2 fire trucks there for atleast 2-3 hrs, damage did not look a lot from outside.

Not sure what caused it but just wanted to know what will happen now..

1> Will insurance cover the owners losses?
2> Will city fine owner and if so how much?

This is a very unfortunate position to be in. I hope no body was hurt in the fire.

I do not know about the fine, if any, imposed by the City but if the insurance company was not told about the tenant, they may refuse any compensation because of non disclosure.

Please update us about the decisions by the insurance company and the city.

I dont think anyone was hurt.. just saw the owners swollen face and the tenant smiling.. did not like the vibes there..

I would have to ask the owner, who incidentally happens to be a real estate agent himself..
