We are moving from Middle East.
My real concern is the weather. We were earlier in London and moved out due to recession and also due to my health. Since London is most of the time grey, I had frequent asthma attacks. Thts why we are very worried. R there good homeopathy centres in Toronto?
Does it rain a lot in toronto and is it windy?
Would be great if few of you can give me the correct picture of Toronto on these concerns.

We found Toronto to be a pleasant change over Halifax when we moved over .... Whereas the latter was windy , having frequent crazy weather , Toronto has consistency in climate .... summers are summers with near consistency .

You have loads of sunshine and with the recent bout of rainy days that we have had , I wonder if Vancouver is any better .

Obviously winters are always there but they seem to last here lesser than in Halifax.

Having said that , I think its the job prospects and economic well being is a very important part in decision making .......

Toronto is definitely a better place to settle down in Canada than any other city.
If you live in the city, winters are also warmer than the suburbs.
Sunshine, yes.

a.k.a. Mississauga. Lot of South Asians . Yes the GTA is sunnier and less colder than other suburbs. Key is Less colder. Keep that in mind. It is still cold. If you can find a difference between -20 and -15 degrees below zero in winter then Toronto is 5 degrees less colder.

Wikipedia has what I think is an accurate description of Toronto's climate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto#Climate" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto#Climate</a>

There are four distinct seasons that vary noticeably in temperature, and type and amount of precipitation. Summers can get hot and humid, although not nearly as hot as it gets in the Middle East. Toronto does have smog days in the summer, so that might be something to keep in mind for your asthma. Most of the rain in the summer tends to be concentrated and delivered by thunderstorms, which are brief storms that last for a few hours or overnight and deliver a lot of rain at once. Summer days are not generally cloudy.

Spring and fall tend to be a lot cloudier, and show much more variation in temperature. Although they are cloudy, spring and fall are not necessarily the rainiest seasons. Indeed, Toronto gets most of its rain in the summer on average, even though it may not feel like it to its residents.

Winters will be cold. They are not as cold as other parts of Canada (except Vancouver/Whistler, and maybe southern Nova Scotia) or regions of the USA further north, but you will find them cold when you move from the Middle East. Generally, winter days are not too cloudy, and most of the snow comes from 3-6 storms that last about 1-3 days each. Average temperatures in January are probably around -3 or -4 C, although 2-3 day spells of above zero temperatures do occur. It is rare for snow that fell in December to last for several months on the ground before melting away. Cold snaps lasting up to a week of temperatures well below -10 C also occur though.

Unfortunately, there are few places in the Western hemisphere where you can completely escape winter cold and snow. South Florida, Texas, and California come to mind, but they are not easy to move to and settle down in. Toronto is definitely a great city to live in - one of the most welcoming cities for new immigrants in the world. I hope you still consider Toronto after learning all this.

With regards to homeopathy - no there isn't an extensive homeopathy network in Canada. It does exist, although it rightfully does not receive the status that it does in the UK or India. If you insist on homeopathic treatments, the Toronto area does have homeopathic clinics that you can visit. I don't think the free healthcare program covers homeopathy.
