I had mentioned my intended destination as Toronto. Subsequently, I wish to go to Calgary if & when I get my immigration visa. Will I have to come to Toronto first & then go to Calgary or can I go directly to Calgary from India? If I go to Toronto, will i have to complete registration formalities, get Social insurance number, etc. in Toronto or I can go immediately to Calgary?

You don't have to go to Toronto. You may land in Calgary and do all the procedures there.
