Sidhu had won the Amritsar seat for the BJP in 2004 and 2009, when BJP had to sit in opposition. Even if he was not to be given a minister post when BJP came to power in 2014, he need not have been asked to vacate the seat for Jaitley. The latter lost the election by a margin of a lac votes, but for some reason was rewarded by Modi with the most powerful FM post. Even during the recent expansion of Modi's Ministerial team, a lot of unknown turbans could be seen but the most popular Sidhu's turban was missing. At the behest of SAD, BJP's alliance senior partner in Punjab, Sidhu was being sidelined. He had to hold a sit in protest for the release of his constituency funds. At least now Sidhu should breathe easy.
