I have a Master's Degree (MBA) in Marketing with Finance as elective subject. Over 6 yrs. experience in Automotive Industry - Sales & Marketing. My wife is a Dietitian (MSc - Food & Nutritition) with over 6 yrs. experience both in Hospital & Private Slimming Clinics ( our Daughter is 1yr. 5 mths old).
1.Which city would be the best for us to settle in considering our experience, my options are Toronto / Vancouver / Calgary ( have no relation in Canada).
2. I am thinking of pursuing Finance field - is it promising if I take a course in Mortgage / Insurance / Banking (can I take the course in India before landing).
3. Is it advisable to bring furniture from Muscat ( in Container) or the price is same in Canada ( Can I get Used Furn in Good Condition).
4. IS it possible to get 1/2 BRM set in a House ( PAying GUest type w.o food) - as Basement option sounds too scary....

KIndly advise

I think you have listed them in the order I would have suggested anyway.
Toronto is obviously the business/commerce capital of Canada and has the largest number of opportunities.
For certain fields, there are better opportunities in other cities - like people with experience in the oil/energy/gas industry may have better chances in Alberta.
I think you should try in all cities as part of your job search, but you can set-up Toronto as your base during the job search.

It depends on the quality of furniture you have there, and the quality you want here.
good quality furniture is very expensive in this part of the world, be it Canada or US.
Add to that 15% taxes (if in Toronto) and your final bill is quite big, especially for a newcomer.

So if you have good quality furniture currently, you should ship it.
However, when you come initially, you may be in a temporary accomodation and may not have space to store all the furniture.
You may have to rent a storage facility for temporary storage of your furniture while you look for a job and find a permanent nest.

You can get good quality used furniture, but again, quality is not cheap.
Plus, unless you are a good judge of the quality of wood, etc. sometimes the stores that sell second-hand stuff do cheat customers.
They will try and sell you ordinary stuff by extolling its virtues or making it sound like it is something great - beware of them.

Yes, you can search for it using the classified in this website.
There are other websites too that have listings, etc.
Once you get here, you can use the local newspapers, Indian newspapers, etc. to search for something you like.

All the best.

Don't try basement option. It is worth paying couple of bucks more for an appartment and stay in proper heating. Cold is killing in Basement, interference of House Owner, because of wooden floors it is as if house owner family is walking on your head and wprst part is, every time they flush and you hear water coming down...........decision is yours

I could not agree more. Sometimes its not an option, but if you CAN afford it, try to avoid basements.

For all the reasons that Jago desi stated and more.
