U have demonstrated focus on ur objectives and faith . I am sure that since u r currently in ur 'survival' stage it wont be long when u metamorphose into ur 'establishment' stage . Take a bite little by little I guess .

All the best in ur endeavours and kindly keep posted as it wud serve as a major boost for newcomers.

Manasvi.

And even if it is a telemarketing job

You are not in Canada yet, right? So, let me try and explain what I was trying to say. There are some types of jobs here that are not at all difficult to get and telemarketing is one them. They usually pay close to minimum wage and sometimes also have commission. Just like getting a job that involves only labour, these are not the jobs that someone means when he says that he has been "successful". Get it?

Hi VJ, sorry I jugdged you harshly. Like someone said earlier, it was the " way you said it". Of course all of us go through this phase. Good luck, I sure hope you succeed.

dear VJ,
I have been following the thread.Congrats and best of luck for you future job hunt. I want to know from desis " where is the dignity of labour in the forum". Let us not discourage the newcomers by saying oh! its a labour job! or Oh! its a call centre job! etc. There is nothing wrong in VJ's statement that he has been sucessful in getting a job in his first attempt. What ever job it may be ,but it is a fact.
As far as VJ is concerened his main goal is to survive the initial period with out touching his savings. It is better than waiting to get in to his own field , watching his savings dwindling, finally panicking and blaming canada. Now he can focus on how to get himself additional qualification and get a job in his field.
Let us also not doubt about the desi's statements that are posted.
VJ has been very frank and honest.

From what VJ has been saying, it is my guess that he is working as a TELEMARKETER.

My job is in a call center for selling financial products and the pay pack is 10 $ + ...

VJ
I have nothing against you or anyone else for that matter. But some people do tend to jump the gun.

I am sorry if I sounded like I was baiting you. However, the manner in which you wrote your OP and the other responses, created a very different picture than what you have revealed now. Had you posted that you have got a job in telemarketing in the OP itself, I would have not written anything at all, which is what I also mentioned in my first post itself.

Do you do this "sales job" calling your clients on the phone?

If that's what you have got, well...all the best!

There is nothing wrong with telemarketing jobs. I had tried my hand at one during first few days aftee I had landed but I couldn't do it for more than 5 hours! That is not true for everybody though. If you can do it, very good for you.

Your upbeat attitude is certainly a big plus for you. It is nice to know that you take pleasure in doing what you have. Do remember the difference between a positive attitude and one that is fanciful. I only wish, you do not at some later time regret your decision to come here.

Hope you continue to have and enjoy a good life in Canada.

And for those who have been acting all coy and courteous, pllleeezzz... I don't think you are doing him a favour!

I just could not see how your post's on this thread would help keep VJ positive at this important juncture. Ofcourse, you have been able to prove your point(for whatever its worth) and I dont argue about that.

Thankfully, looks like VJ does not need either of our inputs.
