Hi Friends

I am landed Immigrant in Toronto in 2007 and went back to UAE for work after few weeks of stay in Toronto. Now I am planning to Move for good to Calgary from UAE. Do I need to do any specific documentation from Ontario to transfer my residency to Alberta? Can I straight away land in Calgary with my PR CARD.? Any info on above regards appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can land in any province of Canada with no additional paperwork required as long as you have a valid PR card.

Once you land in Calgary, you can transfer your residency to Calgary. You don't need to visit Ontario for that. All this can be done via phone / fax if not online.

Check the relevant websites for detailed procedures. E.g. Ministry of Transportation Ontario for Drivers License, Ministry of Health for health cards, CIC for update of addresses, CCRA for tax related issues and so on.

You might be required to surrender exisiting cards (drivers license, health card etc.)

If you had applied for a sin card then you might need to update your address with HRDC.

In general, you need to update your information with any department / organisation you registered / interacted with.

Hi,

You say that you came in and got your PR card and opened a Bank account with TD. You also had dealings with CRA?

While you were away, did you work and make some money there?

If so you will be asked to pay taxes here locally on the monies that you earned while you were away, some place, making it.!

And by the by you can keep all of the cards that were given or issued to you. They are yours to keep. Once they issue them to you they are yours to keep.

Did I do that? (It is called Urkel Syndrome)

Freddie.
