I am working on a few certifications and dont have bandwidth to study BI.. but will ask u to validate the training course sometime near the end of the year.

Hi Fido,

Welcome back.

dudewhereismycar, please note that SAP BO is not SAP DW. I don't know what you meant when you said SAP DW for 1500 in Toronto.

You might be thinking about SAP BI/BW which is different than BO. BO is just a regular reporting tool that is purchased by SAP and integrated with SAP.

So if Ramesh is teaching SAP BO and all its integration points in detail it's worth for 500 otherwise it's not that useful. On top of that Fido is saying he didn't go in depth.

DW is short for Data warehouse.. , BI , BO are stand for the same tool/toolset

i know sap has ditched their inhouse tool for Business objects.. hence the change in acronym

SAP BW is the DWH of SAP and SAP ETL tool Data Services ETL s data to BW ....

From BW the reporting tool used is BO . And since all SAP BW reporting will be done sooner or later in BO ..... it is H O T .....

Ramesh did teach SAP integrated BO but as I said not in depth ..... I also feel that learning in depth would take much more than 30 - 40 hrs ..

DWMC , I thought you were in BI ... Feel free to get in touch if and when you d need any more info ....

I am a Senior BI consultant and I can say that 30-40 hours is not at all enough for BO. I would say atleast 50-60 hours with months of practice. Good luck.

MSDEV , I agree ... the month's practice is equally important .

I have a q - which of these is better from a career prospect : Cognos / BO ? .... Considering the demand , opportunities and growth (both in Canada and the US ) ? ...

To me it appears that currently Cognos opportunities are higher in Canada but as SAP has taken over BO , demand for BO folks would be consistent till long time to come .............. Personally I felt that scorecards / dashboards / XCelcius ... BO scores over Cognos ........

Welcoming thoughts ??

Pures college in Toronto Provides SAP BI/BO training. Each one is a 60 hr course.
The instructor is Arthur. He is a Senior SAP BI7.0 Consultant, with more than 13 years professional experience in SAP BW and BI Consulting field, as well as 5 years SAP BW and BI teaching experience.

At Pures ,the latest version is used which is SAP BI Business Explorer 7.10 Patch.

Also, there is online training as well.

Right now there is lot sof promotional offers happening as it is summer and lots of students are enrolling for training in different SAP modules. You have an option of trying out the class and talking to the trainer before you join for the course.
