During tax prepartion for 2004 using ufile software I did not see any credits for having childern.
Is this correct?
There are credits for day care etc. but nothing for just having a kid or 12 for that matter
Do we don't get any "rebate" or tax credits for having kids in Ontario???

You are right. I also could not find the section where they ask for dependents. That information is needed to process both the CCTB as well as Ontrario dependents rebate.

Actually you have an option to add a family member in your interview form(once you click there you get the option to add a dependent). Just do that for each of your dependents.
I think it should suffice...am not 100% sure...first time doing something like this by myself.
Note:I am using the online version of ufile and not the one from retailers. I dont know about differences between the two.

I noticed that adding a child or dependent makes no difference at all so far as net tax owed or refund due is concerned.
Also that CCTB is a joke.....you get like a measly $62 a month!!!!!!!
something that some of us make in less than 2 hours
Dont know why desis keep on singing the cctb tune all the time

Well, that's exactly the case - if you receive something that you make it in two hours, you really don't need the CCTB. If you make that in one hour, you will most probably not get it atall.

For me, I get CCTB which would be equivalent to making that money (net of tax) in more than a week if i were in a labour job!

CCTB is directly dependent on the amount you make as a family income - I get almost $400 per month as CCTB, and would have perhaps got more if one or both my children were below the age of 7.
